About Eden Gardens
Our Story
Building a 120-acre Community-Based Eco-Farm
In August 2016, Glodev purchased 120 acres in NW Jacksonville, FL to build a self-sustaining eco-farm that will help train and feed thousands. We have built two aquaponics greenhouses, a "food forest," citrus-filled hugelkultur beds and herb garden.
We are working to change the face of hunger and systemic poverty around the world and right here at home! We want to provide fresh, responsibly grown food to those who need it most at a low cost or free through our work-4-food program.
Eden Gardens is a project of Global Development (GloDev Inc)
Glodev has developed a new project that helps students engage agriculture using STEAM curriculum. We are installing systems in schools that are managed by students and produces nutrient dense, chemical-free food using aquaponics and hugelkultur.
Education in the Garden
STEAM learning rooted in wonder

S
T
Science
Soil biology, water chemistry, plant physiology, aquaponics nutrient cycles — all studied directly in Eden Gardens' living systems.
Technology
Students program sensors, build monitoring systems, and log real crop data using hands-on technology embedded in the farm.

M
Engineering
Design and build aquaponics rigs, hugelkultur beds, irrigation systems, and growing structures — from sketches to working systems.
Arts
Botanical illustration, garden journals, nature photography, and creative documentation of the seasonal story of Eden Gardens.
Mathematics
Yield calculations, nutrient ratios, bed geometry, crop trial analysis — real math, solving real problems in a real garden.
Bio-Diversity Farming
How we tend Eden Gardens
Every practice at Eden Gardens honours the whole living system — closing nutrient loops, building soil life, and producing food that genuinely nourishes.
AQUAPONICS Fish and plants thrive together in a closed-loop system. Fish waste fertilizes herbs and greens; the plants return clean water to the fish. One of Eden Gardens' signature systems, open for training and field trips.
🔄 Zero Runoff · Year-Round
HUGELKULTUR Ancient mound-bed technique using buried wood that decomposes into rich life. These beds self-irrigate, self-fertilize, and improve for decades — a cornerstone of Eden Gardens' bio-diverse approach.
🌊 Water Retention · Carbon Storage

COMPOSTING Hot compost and vermicomposting transform kitchen and garden scraps into living black gold. In Eden Gardens, nothing is waste — every scrap is a gift returning to the soil that feeds our community.
🌍 Soil Health · Zero Waste
GREENHOUSES Season-extension structures allow year-round growing in Jacksonville's climate, seedling propagation, and protection for tender crops. Our greenhouse is also a hands-on learning space for visitors.
☀️ Year-Round · Microclimate
HYDROPONICS Water-based growing systems that allow us to produce food in spaces and seasons where soil growing isn't possible — maximizing productivity while minimising water use and land footprint.
💧 Water-Efficient · High Yield
PERMACULTURE Diverse companion plantings, polycultures, and wildlife corridors create the richness of a true living ecosystem — where every plant, insect, fungus and bird plays a role in the garden's abundance.
